1. PUT ON A FUN OUTFIT YOU LOVE

Feeling a little down? Angsty? That fun little dress in your closet that makes you smile? Put it on. Dressing in clothes that make you happy, confident, and fun absolutely serves to reduce your stress and change your mindset for whatever you’ve been worried about. And good shoes? Oh lawdy. Just make sure they are comfortable so they don’t do the reverse and add to your stress level when you are dying to take them off.

 

2. GET IN A SWEAT

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. And happy people dont…… stress, they just don’t. Well that’s not entirely true because I’m pretty sure even the happiest people have stress in their lives, but the magic is, they know how to manage it. One way that I absolutely LOVE and support is working out. Go to the gym, get your headphones on, and zone into doing your body some good and getting your mind off whatever it is that’s got you stressed. I promise by the end of your workout you’ll feel better and more prepared to tackle it head on. This may be the only time I’d say SWEAT the small stuff 😉

 

3. GET SOME FRESH AIR

You’d be surprised how good a walk outside will do the body and mind when you are looking to reduce stress. Something about the fresh air and sun on your face helps to remind you that everything will be ok at the end of the day. So get up off that couch with the Ben & Jerry’s and go for a nice little stroll to totally change your mood.

 

4. SMILE, BIG

This one sounds crazy I know. Because smiling is just about the LAST thing you feel like doing when you’re stressed but guess what? You totally need it, and it totally works. So sitting at your desk feeling overwhelmed? Force a little smile on your face, share a smile with someone else, and you’ll get to feeling better in no time. Really try this one, it will totally change your day, and it is such an unexpected and beautiful thing.

 

5. GET YOUR SMOOCH ON

Kissing reduces stress. Really. This is a fact. Like a scientific, study-based, watching people kiss all day and gathering data situation. Grab your hubby, partner, boyfriend/girlfriend, that cute guy at the bar and get your smooch on to reduce that stress girl.
