6 Years Ago Today

08/07/2017

Putting the LIFE in this life & style blog today with a sappy post about something that certainly contributes to my happiness in this life. Family. And a very special event.

Six years ago today was a pretty big day that forever changed my life. It was the day my nephew Dominic was born, the day I became an Aunt. Now with three nephews, two nieces and another nephew coming any day, I’m an Aunt-ing professional and I can’t imagine it any other way. But that one day 6 years ago still holds such a special place in my heart, and the little boy that first called me Auntie Jay (which my sister practiced with him all the time, got it on recording one day finally and sent it to me at work which made me cry -NBD), will always be my first little babe who has taught me love in such a new special way that I can only call Aunthood.

Dominic turns 6 today and it only made sense to celebrate him on the blog and some of the special times we’ve had together. Although I’m pretty sure he doesn’t think I’m as cool as he used to (because six year olds are getting too cool for alot these days) I still think he’s one of the coolest, sweetest kids on the block and am so thankful to have spent such an awesome six years with him so far.

Now, Dominic, stop growing and consider snuggling me a little more like you used to.

Any Aunties out there know exactly what I mean by the immense love that is Aunthood? I just can’t imagine how much I’ll love my own children when I love these nuggets so much. You feel me?

XO,

JESS

Yes, I remember each and every one of my nieces and nephews births. It was an amazing time in my life and the years that followed were unforgettable. Although it is not the same feeling as when you have your own children, it still comes with unconditional love and emotion. As an Aunt, there is nothing you wouldn’t do for your nieces and nephews. Enjoy this time with them and know, you are very cool!
