It is officially the season of bikinis, beaches and vacay. Are you ready for it? Or could you use another few months to get serious about getting fit? I’m not sure anyone ever feels completely “ready” for the beach, so to help you out, I’m sharing 5 tips you can do right away to make you feel your best on the beach.

One week out from that beach trip and wanting to feel your best? Try these five things below.

  1. DRINK LOTS OF WATER

    If you are trying to slim down a bit fast, making water your new best friend is definitely a good place to start. Water aids your effort in numerous ways including: lowering the amount of fat stored in your body, suppressing your appetite (how many times have you been hungry when really you just need a huge glass of water), flushing out extra water weight, and jump starting your metabolism. Not to mention it will also improve your skin AND sticking with just water will save you empty calories from other drinks.

  2. CUT OUT ALCOHOL AND DAIRY

    Cutting out these two culprits who are notorious for causing bloat will certainly help you feel slimmer on the beach. It will also help stabilize your digestion so you are using the food you are consuming to fuel your body and will also give you more energy to get in those great workouts. Worried about getting in your calcium for bone health? Opt for collagen peptides in a breakfast shake or morning coffee, it also boots skin, joint and hair health (mermaid hair anyone?!).

  3. GO HIGH PROTEIN, LOW CARB, LOW SODIUM

    Changing up your diet to focus on proteins and reducing your carbs and sodium will also do wonders for you leading up to a beach trip. I recommend eggs, chicken breast, ground turkey as great lean protein options and trying zoodles (spiralized veggies), cauliflower rice, and other veggies as your sides. And lower your sodium intake because, BLOAT.

  4. DO HIIT WORKOUTS, FOCUSING ON ARMS AND BOOTY

    For your last workouts before your trip, try to focus on workouts that you’ll get your maximum fat burning opportunity. HIIT workouts are best for that, keeping your heart rate up, making you sweat and kicking off those calories like woah. Also, focus on the assets that will stand out the most, arms and booty and you’ll feel ready to go on the beach.

  5. BE CONFIDENT

    Be realistic, weight loss miracles don’t happen in a week, and though the above tips will certainly make you feel your best and slim down a bit, the greatest thing you can do to feel great on your beach trip is love yourself and Be Confident. Keeping that cover up on all day brings more attention to you than you know so strip down to your suit and own your assets like you should. Because you are beautiful in no matter what shape you are in and should enjoy every moment at the beach… and if you really did the things above you should FEEL proud.

 

Implementing these things or variations on these tips is a great idea all the time for maintaining a happy and healthy life but it’s totally understandable and not realistic to live this way all the time (except for that last one because YOU GO GIRL).
